A Typical Day at Edge Esmeralda 2025
Buy tickets & book lodging soon! Ticket prices increase as EE draws closer
Remember to book accommodation & buy tickets soon! Ticket prices increase as we get closer to the start of EE, and there are a limited number of hotel rooms at the rates we negotiated.
Edge Esmeralda is probably different from other events you’ve attended, so we wanted to share what a typical week is like!
Edge Esmeralda is similar to a college campus, with all sorts of interesting activities in walking and biking distance. You’ll have the opportunity to attend and participate in book clubs, talks by domain experts, musical performances, group workouts, workshops where you can learn a new skill, and much more.
What is a Popup Village?
Popup villages are an entirely new kind of gathering. Unlike a conference, hackathon, or retreat:
People live there, rather than just attend.
Work happens organically and daily, not just in scheduled bursts.
Ideas develop over time instead of being rushed.
Co-creation replaces passive consumption—everyone contributes to shaping the experience.
Real communities form, built on shared experiences and collaboration over time.
Daily Life & Weekly Flow
While this daily structure provides rhythm, the week has its own flow: weekdays feature more focused deep work and smaller group activities, while weekends bring a higher density of programming when weekend visitors join, injecting fresh energy and ideas into the village.
Here’s what a day at Edge Esmeralda might look like:
7:30 AM - 8:30 AM: Start with movement—a run through vineyards, yoga, or a cold plunge followed by sauna time. These become daily routines with friends!
8:30 AM - 9:30 AM: Community breakfast where you'll recognize the same faces day after day, allowing conversations to build and deepen naturally.
9:30 AM - 12:30 PM: Deep work time in shared spaces. Unstructured days give you the time to make real progress on your projects.
12:30 PM - 1:30 PM: Lunch break at our meal hub or local spots.
1:30 PM - 4:30 PM: Choose your path:
Continue deep work.
Join a workshop posted on our shared calendar.
Spend meaningful time with new friends.
4:30 PM - 6:30 PM: Interactive and participant driven talks and workshops.
6:30 PM - 8:00 PM: Community dinner where the day's learnings are shared and new collaborations form.
8:00 PM onwards: Evening activities hosted by community members.
The Practical Side
We understand committing to participate in a popup village requires a commitment of time, resources, and planning. Here’s how that looks for most participants:
Time Commitment: Many participants work remotely during their stay, treating EE as their office for the month. You can join for anywhere from a week up to the full month, and we release weekend passes the week before it starts for those who can only drop in briefly.
Cost: Your ticket includes workspace, programming, and subsidized community meals. Read more in our Tickets blog post.
Accommodation: Options range from shared houses ($2,000/month) to hotel rooms ($150-300/night) to longer-term rentals. Many participants share housing to reduce costs. Learn more in our Housing blog post.
Families Welcome: Unlike most professional gatherings, we provide programming for children and welcome partners, making it possible for families to attend together. Read more in our Kids & Families blog post.
If You’re a Sonoma County Local:
We’d love for you to attend, and we’re offering a 10% discount for Sonoma County Locals! You can get a ticket here.
If you house a scholar, you get a free ticket.
We encourage visitors to walk & bike as their primary modes of transportation rather than driving, to reduce environmental impact and stay active.

We hope you'll join us in May to experience this unique environment for yourself!
